Erri’s Dragon Age: Inquisition Quick Tips
Dragon Age: Inquisition is stealing my life at the moment and quickly working itself into my favourite 5 games of all time. It is to me a new Skyrim and I am loving every minute I have exploring this beautiful world. Here are some quick tips for the game:
Okay, that sounds obvious I know but REALLY GUYS. Jump climb that mountain. Run right into that desert. Uncover that whole map! Why? There is so much hidden stuff out there! By far the favourite thing I have found is my cheese wheel shield. A whole wheel of cheese? BioWare I’m not even mad, I’m impressed!
Make Friends and Influence People
Talk to your party regularly. And if you don’t want to try to hook up with the whole of Thedas (Hey now I have a lot of love to give), at least try and be their friends because it is so rewarding. After a bit of bonding you will have the chance to run around and play pranks on people with Sera or tease Cassandra over her passion of smutty love stories. It’s like a ye olde episode of Friends.
Iron Bull Everything
Keep this dude in your party. The banter he has with other characters whilst out in the field is the absolute best – especially with Sera. Many times I have LOLed to myself as I listen to them talk about tactical battle piggyback rides. He is a witty, wry, mercenary leader with a heart of gold. Oh and he is voiced by Freddie Prinze Jnr who has knocked this one out of the ball park.
Give Multiplayer A Go
Multiplayer doesn’t hold your hand here. You are dropped into a randomly generated map with up to three other players and then the dungeon crawl begins. It’s pretty unforgiving – enemy archers are incredibly accurate and do a lot of damage. If you choose to play as a rogue or wizard you really can’t afford to get close to warriors at the beginning as you won’t last long. You do level up fast and the gold you pick up in game can be used to buy potions or chests of random loot. BioWare hasn’t strayed too far from the formula they used for Mass Effect’s multiplayer, so chances are if you liked that you will like this.
Hunt Out Easter Eggs
I absolutely love findings easter eggs in games. It’s a blissful moment of “Hey! I understand that reference! Har har!”. Dragon Age: Inquisition has no shortage of easter eggs and I am sure over the next few months the internet will find them all. My favourites so far is a Plants Vs Zombies reference in Crestwood and the movie quotes/references that Cole sneaks into conversations (I have heard so far references from The Sixth Sense and Star Wars).
Fight A Dragon
This game is called Dragon Age. Go fight one! Each dragon is absolutely beautiful- I have Steve Irwin’ed over every one I have found so far. They provide a challenge of epic proportions and a bit of forward planning, but the sense of accomplishment once one goes down is so rewarding. Plus you know, dragon loot!
So those are my best tips and tricks for Dragon Age: Inquisition. Are you guys as engrossed? Let us know in the comments!
